Job summary

InDyne seeks a Tactical Data Link (TDL) and GCCS Operator/Technician for on-site support at Atlantic Test Range, Patuxent River, MD. You will work on the Navy’s Tactical Data Network, write IA documentation, and support T&E missions.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 5+ years in related roles, and hands-on GCCS/Link-16 experience. Travel and OT may be required; DoD security clearance is pursued.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in similar functions.
  • Completion of advanced armed services technical school or 30+ semester hours in technical curriculum.
  • Military or equivalent TDL/GCCS experience with Link-16 as an operator.
  • Working knowledge of GCCS and JRE/JREAP utilization.
  • Familiarity with TDL communications, radios, encryption devices and IA concepts.
  • Proficiency with Windows and Solaris operating systems.
  • Understand interfaces and configurations for TDL interoperability and IA.
  • COMSEC qualification is desired; valid driver's license and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate, document, secure, and test TDL systems per requirements.
  • Apply operational use of TDL systems to mission needs.
  • Apply Tactical Data Link theory to real-time missions.
  • Some overtime and limited travel may be required.

Job description

Overview

Background Information:

This full-time, onsite position will serve as a Tactical Data Link (TDL) and Global Command and Control Systems (GCCS) Operator/Technician and technical participant on the Navy’s Tactical Data Network for test and evaluation (T&E) mission support, including writing Information Assurance (IA) documentation and other duties as required. Work to be performed primarily at the Atlantic Test Range (ATR) in Patuxent River, MD. ATR is the Navy’s East Coast open-air test range and provides cutting-edge T&E services to support live aircraft and weapon system testing.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Integrate, document, secure, and test TDL systems in support of customer requirements
  • Apply operational employment and usage of TDL systems
  • Apply Tactical Data Link theory to real-time mission requirements
  • Some overtime and limited travel may be required

Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent GED is required
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in performing the stated or similar job functions
  • Successful completion of advanced armed services technical school curriculum; or completion of at least 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) of courses at an accredited college, university, or technical school in an engineering, scientific, or technical curriculum.
  • Military or equivalent experience with TDL and GCCS with a strong working knowledge/hands-on experience with Link-16 systems as an operator
  • Must have working knowledge/hands-on experience with Global Command and Control Systems (GCCS)
  • Must be familiar with the Joint Range Extension (JRE) or equivalent systems - Tactical Gateway
  • Familiarity with TDL communications, radios, power supplies, encryption devices, and commercial and militarized documentation is highly desired
  • Familiarity with radios to include PRC-117G, URC-200
  • Familiarity with Mil-STD-3011 for the utilization of JREAP A, B, and C preferred
  • Experienced with Windows and Solaris Operating Systems
  • Must possess a detailed understanding of interfaces and configuration requirements for TDL interoperability and Information Assurance (IA)
  • COMSEC qualification desired
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and successfully pass a drug screening
Clearance Requirements
  • Currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain the proper US DoD issued security clearance, which requires US Citizenship. Security clearance eligibility may be discussed during the interview phase.
  • Employment and start date is contingent upon the candidate receiving the required US DoD issued interim security clearance
Work Conditions

Conditions will vary.Most work performed in enclosed buildings, but some outside work may be required. Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching.Applicant should be capable of lifting 50 lbs. unassisted, and 100 lbs. assisted by other employees. Vision abilities needed to perform this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
