Job summary

NODA AI is seeking a Tactical Communications and Field Systems Engineer to design, integrate, and maintain the networks that connect unmanned platforms with ground control stations and customer systems. You will support field testing, demonstrations, and deployments, ensuring communications readiness and thorough documentation. Travel up to 50% (including international deployments).

Qualifications

• Five+ years planning, installing, operating, and maintaining tactical comms in military or field service roles, including deployments.
• Hands-on RF systems knowledge: HF/VHF/UHF, SATCOM, mesh networks, encryption, testing, and retransmission.
• IP networking with subnetting, DHCP, VLANs, routing, VPNs, and firewall basics.
• Experience with COMSEC/TRANSEC, key handling, and reception of military communications protocols.
• Citizenship and DoD Secret clearance active or eligibility for reinstatement, with deployment readiness.

Responsibilities

• Develop mission communications plans covering radio, satellite links, mesh networks, and backhaul with PACE options.
• Configure and test communications between unmanned platforms and ground control stations; manage relay sites for beyond-line-of-sight links.
• Diagnose faults in radios, antennas, cabling, and power systems; mitigate interference and jamming.
• Coordinate frequency and access requests with authorities; manage COMSEC key loading and TRANSEC procedures.
• Survey field sites, verify communications before deployment, and integrate C2, telemetry, and data into customer systems.
• Train teammates and customers; support site setup, teardown, and field demonstrations.
