Job summary

Leidos is hiring a Mid-Level Cyber Security Engineer to secure the Army’s Counter‑UAS Network Communication System (NCS). You’ll engineer, implement, and test security controls that protect M‑LIDS and FS‑LIDS systems supporting SHORAD missions.

This role blends hands‑on coding, RMF/ATO support, and Agile team collaboration to deliver secure tactical software in contested environments. Locations: Huntsville, AL; Alexandria, VA; telecommuting may be available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity/CS/Engineering
• 4–7 years cybersecurity experience
• Active DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret
• Experience coding and testing security controls (C/C++/Python/Java)
• DoD 8570/8140 certification (Security+, CySA+, CASP+, CISSP, etc.)
• Hands-on encryption, MFA, access control, vulnerability assessment, and Agile development

Responsibilities

• Implement and test encryption, MFA, and access control within tactical software.
• Conduct vulnerability scanning, security regression testing, and penetration‑testing support.
• Contribute security requirements, reviews, and documentation for NCS upgrades.
• Validate secure cloud data pipelines and remote access (zero‑trust, VPN, gateways).
• Support RMF/ATO activities, patch assessments, compliance checks, and government security testing.
• Track and remediate findings in Agile sprint cycles; present results at TIMs and reviews.
