GardaWorld Security is seeking a Tactical Security Officer in Vernon, CT. The role requires patrolling diverse environments, enforcing regulations, and coordinating with law enforcement as needed.

Qualified candidates must hold a CT armed security license, meet training and fitness criteria, and demonstrate strong communication skills. Employment is contingent on background checks, drug screening, and immunizations.

Qualifications

• Be authorized to work in the U.S.
• You are 21 years old or older
• Be able to provide documentation of High School Diploma or GED
• You have a state security license (CT state Blue Card) valid armed endorsement
• Each armed employee must have prior law enforcement or military experience
• Have a minimum of six months armed work experience
• Pass LEAI Assessment (62% or higher)
• Pass government-required live-fire testing and meet minimum scores
• Complete NRA course with 80% proficiency
• Pass standard GWSS employee physical
• Pass Krus Weber test and HPE
• Have immunizations up to date
• Provide personally owned duty weapon (9mm)
• Complete certification for less-lethal option (OC Spray)
• Acing extensive screening process
• Strong communication skills
• Clean motor vehicle record and ability to operate a security vehicle
• Stand and walk for entire shift

Responsibilities

• Respond swiftly and professionally to emergency situations, including disturbances, threats, and potential criminal activity.
• Monitor access points and perform security checks on vehicles and personnel.
• Maintain a clean motor vehicle record, as you may be required to operate a company vehicle as part of your patrol responsibilities.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and other security personnel as necessary to address incidents or security concerns.
• Enforce all company regulations, policies, and procedures while interacting with the public in a courteous and professional manner.
• Provide detailed written reports, documenting all incidents and observations accurately and in a timely manner.

As a Security Officer – Tactical, physical ability is essential as you will be moving around your entire shift, patrolling environments such as retail stores, airports, detention centers, etc.

Qualifications

• Be authorized to work in the U.S.
• You are 21 years old or older
• Be able to provide documentation of High School Diploma or GED
• You have a state security license (CT state Blue Card) valid armed endorsement
• Each armed employee must either be prior law enforcement officer with a minimum of 5 years experience; or a career military, or in law enforcement(e.g., police, corrections, or federal agencies)
• Have a minimum of six (6) months of armed work experience which may include military and/or law enforcement experience.
• Pass an LEAI Assessment (62% or higher)
• Candidate must pass government-required live-fire testing and meet minimum scores as established by the state of Connecticut.
• Candidate must complete a standard NRA course of fire with eighty percent (80%) proficiency
• Pass standard GWSS employee physical
• Pass modified agility exam to include lifting and moving and flexibility testing. (The Kraus Weber Test)
• Candidate must pass a Human Performance Evaluation (HPE). HPE is based on agility, walking, running and lifting
• Currently have or be able to attain all necessary immunizations
• Provide personally owned duty weapon (9mm caliber handgun & three (3) magazines of a minimum 10 round capacity
• Complete certification to carry an approved less-lethal alternative. (OC Spray)
• Be able to ace (and pass) an extensive screening process
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Clean motor vehicle record and ability to operate a security vehicle
• Ability to respond to high-pressure situations with professionalism and calmness
• First aid certification is an asset
• Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift
