Job summary

Magnum Paving LLC in Villa Rica, GA is seeking a Tack Truck Operator to safely operate an asphalt distributor truck, apply tack coat and emulsions, perform inspections, and maintain equipment. You'll work with the paving crew to ensure quality, adjust application rates, and follow DOT/OSHA safety guidelines in a physically demanding outdoor setting. Prior distributor experience is preferred, CDL if applicable.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Minimum 3 years of asphalt distributor or heavy equipment operating experience preferred.
• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) required if applicable to the assigned vehicle and job requirements.
• Strong understanding of asphalt distributor operation, equipment maintenance, and jobsite safety procedures.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Operate an asphalt distributor truck to apply tack coat, asphalt emulsion, and other liquids to road surfaces.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the distributor truck and related equipment.
• Safely load, transport, heat, and apply asphalt materials following safety requirements.
• Set spray bar height, nozzle configuration, and rate to achieve required coverage.
• Monitor material levels, temperature, pressure, and spray patterns; adjust as needed.
• Coordinate with paving crew to ensure proper timing and application of tack coat.
• Maintain clean, organized truck and equipment; report malfunctions.
