Job Summary
Responsible for driving and operating tack truck to distribute oil on road surfaces while ensuring proper distribution of material. Also performs general labor tasks as needed to assist the crew. Flexibility to travel within Nebraska to work for the duration of projects. Must abide by Company Safety Program and Policies while performing duties safely. Reliable attendance is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Drives tack truck to destination applying commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle in difficult situations.
  • Operates tack truck to spray oil on road surfaces and ensure proper distribution.
  • Inspects truck, equipment, and supplies before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition and needs.
  • Safely load hot oil, up to 150 degrees Fahrenheit, into tank truck for distribution.
  • Regularly lift hose weighing up to 50 pounds that may contain hot oil.
  • Operates other equipment such as skid loader, broom, and loader to assist with grinding & prepping road for asphalt.
  • Must observe and practice safety standards and policies of the department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and
  • previous driving experience handling large trucks and equipment; or
  • equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Must have a current Class B CDL and be insurable under the company insurance program.
  • Tanker and Air Brakes endorsements preferred or have the ability to obtain with provided training.

Qualifications:

  • Able to travel to various locations in Nebraska and work there onsite the majority of the time.
  • Must be able to work according to seasonal and order demand schedule.
  • Must be able to pull or lift materials up to 50 pounds.
