Sargent & Lundy seeks a seasoned Senior Electrical Engineer with 14+ years in substation design and commissioning, specializing in protection and control. The role supports all project phases from planning to commissioning, with remote work and field visits as needed.

Ideal candidates will interface across engineering, construction, and commissioning teams, review design packages, and guide commissioning procedures while ensuring safety and design integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required.
• 14+ years of experience in substation design and commissioning with protection and control.
• Ability to interface across engineering, construction, and commissioning disciplines.
• Strong knowledge of substation equipment, protection schemes, schematics and commissioning protocols.

Responsibilities

This position is remote with the expectation to visit the field as needed. The location of the assignment can vary depending on the job and/or client.

We are seeking a seasoned senior electrical engineer with 14+ years of experience in substation design and commissioning, with a strong understanding of protection and control. While this role is not design-intensive, it requires deep technical knowledge to support all phases of project execution—from planning and design review to high-level construction oversight and commissioning support.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership on substation projects specializing in substation design and commissioning with a strong focus on protection and control
• Collaborate with engineering, construction, and commissioning teams to keep projects on track and aligned with scope and schedule
• Review engineering design packages and material specifications to ensure completeness and constructability
• Monitor construction progress at a high level, ensuring compliance with design requirements and safety standards
• Develop, review, and support implementation of commissioning procedures, including system testing and startup
• Assist engineering project management with progress tracking, coordination, and resolution of technical issues

Compensation Range

$118,023 - $180,313
