Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a seasoned senior electrical engineer for substation design and commissioning with a strong protection and control background. The position is remote with occasional field visits and varies by assignment.

The ideal candidate will lead technical activities across planning, design review, construction oversight, and commissioning support, leveraging 14+ years of relevant experience. This role does not require design-intensive work but demands deep technical proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) - required.
• 14+ years of experience in substation design and commissioning with a strong understanding of protection and control.
• Demonstrated ability to interface effectively across engineering, construction, and commissioning disciplines.
• Strong working knowledge of substation equipment, protection schemes, schematics, and commissioning protocols.

Responsibilities

This position is remote with the expectation to visit the field as needed. The location of the assignment can vary depending on the job and/or client.

We are seeking a seasoned senior electrical engineer with 14+ years of experience in substation design and commissioning, with a strong understanding of protection and control. While this role is not design-intensive, it requires deep technical knowledge to support all phases of project execution—from planning and design review to high-level construction oversight and commissioning support.

Compensation Range

$118,023 - $180,313
