Job summary

TALENT Software Services is seeking a Contract Wet Lab Scientist to join our Discovery Biology team onsite in San Diego, CA. The role focuses on bench-level assays to screen binders and validate T-cell–based therapies.

The contract is typically 6–12 months, with opportunities to work on non-viral T cell engineering, flow cytometry, and high-throughput screening in a fast-paced drug discovery setting. Applicants should have a Biology-related degree and at least 2 years of industry wet-lab

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, or related bioscience.
• At least 2 years of hands-on wet lab experience in an industry setting.
• Aseptic technique mastery and primary T cell isolation from PBMCs.
• Experience in flow cytometry acquisition and analysis (FlowJo).
• Familiar with non-viral transfection methods and liquid-handling robotics is a plus.
• Strong communication skills for data-driven updates at sprint meetings.

Responsibilities

• Non-viral genetic modification of T cells via electroporation or transposon-based methods.
• Monitor viability and ensure high expression before functional testing.
• Perform high-throughput screening to assess binder affinity and function.
• Culture and expand primary T cells and Jurkat lines with aseptic technique.
• Conduct multi-color flow cytometry using FlowJo for surface markers.
• Run functional assays: cytotoxicity, cytokine profiling (ELISA/MSD/Luminex).
• Track T-cell proliferation using CFSE dye.
• Record all procedures and data in ELN for regulatory filings.
