Job summary

Dartmouth Health seeks a Nurse Regional Float (PRN) for the System Staffing Office, Medical Surgical. This role covers 48 hours in a 4 week period, including one weekend shift, with assignments to multiple DH system facilities from DHMC Lebanon to affiliated NH hospitals.

Per diem flexibility enables choosing locations across NH/NH Vermont ambulatory areas within the DH system. Applicants must graduate from an accredited Nursing Program.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
• BSN preferred.
• Minimum 2 years experience required.
• Licensed Registered Nurse with NH eligibility.
• ACLS required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Uses the nursing process to assess, diagnose, identify outcomes, plan, implement and evaluate an individualized plan of care.
• Recognizes changes in patient status and modifies the plan or elevates to the care team as needed.
• Advocates for patients per the ANA Code of Ethics and ensures informed consent.
• Seeks feedback and strives to improve performance.
• Mentors colleagues and contributes to nursing practice advancement.
• Deliberately delegates elements of care within legal and policy guidelines.
• Prioritizes time to optimize patient outcomes.
• Applies current evidence and standards to daily practice.
• Models inquiry and participates in research/quality improvement locally.
• Communicates effectively in diverse formats and settings.
• Partners with others to drive positive change through knowledge exchange.
• Precepts students and other nursing staff.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.
