Job summary

Form Energy in Weirton, WV is hiring a Test Engineer to join the Systems Test organization. You will deploy, execute, and validate multi-pack test assets, ensuring BMS hardware, power electronics, and subsystems integrate correctly.

The role blends hardware-in‑the‑loop tests with rigorous troubleshooting. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in systems testing and experience with data analysis, CAN/Modbus, and scripting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, or related technical discipline.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in systems test, hardware validation, or laboratory test integration.
• Familiar with low- and high-voltage wiring, sensors, and actuators.
• Experience in test scripting and data analysis (Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB).
• Knowledge of CAN, Modbus, Ethernet, or EtherCAT is a plus.
• Able to adapt in a fast-paced, iterative design environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily operations, test sequencing, and safe execution of validation campaigns on multi-pack assets.
• Write and implement detailed, repeatable test procedures for BMS hardware and integration points.
• Act as primary hands-on triager when test anomalies occur across hardware and software.
• Process and review telemetry, validate data integrity, and summarize findings into test reports.
• Manage LO TO requirements and safety interlocks within a high-energy lab environment.
• Coordinate with facilities and technicians for test runs and mechanical alignments.
