Job summary

Spye is seeking a full-time Systems Technician to commission, install and service AV system solutions for clients. The role involves leading on-site installation tasks, reading schematics, and coordinating with project and service managers. You will mentor junior installers and perform training as needed.

The ideal candidate has Extron CTS and ProDSP/XTP certifications, strong communication, and budgeting skills, plus a valid driver’s license. Travel to client sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in commissioning and installing AV system projects.
• Ability to read electronic schematics and architectural blueprints.
• Mentor junior installers and provide guidance on site tasks.
• Valid driver's license and a clean motor vehicle record.
• Maintain Extron, CTS, and related AV certifications.

Responsibilities

• Commission, install and service AV system solutions for clients.
• Lead/configure screens, projectors, and digital signage on-site.
• Coordinate with PMs, programmers, and service managers.
• Provide client training and maintain project documentation.
• Troubleshoot, configure, and commission Extron hardware.
• Train junior installers and ensure site leadership.
• Assist with budget adherence and project planning.

Job Responsibilities:
The Systems Technician will commission, install and service AV System solutions for Spye clients. This position will work closely with the Programming, Project, and Service Managers along with programmers, technicians, and installers. This position will lead/assist in the configuration, setup and commissioning of systems integration projects and service-related issues as assigned. This role will be expected to be an active and supportive member of the project & service teams and abide by the core values of the organization.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

• Perform installation tasks for audio visual projects including but not limited to pulling cable, installing connectors, mounting projectors and displays
• Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints
• Use hand and power tools to solder and crimp connectors along with various other AV systems related tasks
• Assist with basic rack wiring
• Test point to point functionality of systems
• Field installation of AV System hardware
• Train and Mentor Jr installers and
• Make minor programming changes under the direction of a programmer as needed
• Provide site supervisor of install team with direction from the Project Manager
• Perform client training as needed
• Responsible for job documentation as needed
• Demonstrate job site leadership
• Lead/Assist the configuration and deployment of digital signage solutions & installations
• Lead/Assist on service and maintenance for digital signage solutions & installations
• Other duties as assigned

• Two Installers

• Effective communication and interaction with employees, clients, and colleagues
• Understand and maintain project budgets
• Effectively manage multiple projects
• Demonstrate time management skills with attention to detail
• Understand AV system functionality and installation processes and techniques
• Understand technical and construction documents
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Microsoft Project and Adobe Acrobat (a computer and $70/month cell phone re-imbursement will be provided – tethering required on your cell phone plan)
• Valid Driver’s License and a Motor Vehicle Record
• Obtain/Maintain Extron Certifications

• Become familiar with the AV systems Spye deploys and configures
• Must become proficient at commissioning/configuring/troubleshooting Extron systems hardware that utilize
• Become familiar and proficient in assisting, configuring, commissioning, and training clients with Zoom Rooms setups.
