Position: IT Support Technician

This full-time, non-exempt role reports to the IT Director and supports the IT Department in daily operations.

Responsibilities:
  1. Perform on-site hardware and software moves, additions, maintenance, and updates.
  2. Ensure the data network and related equipment are operational.
  3. Respond promptly to trouble reports related to the communications network.
  4. Maintain camera and card access systems.
  5. Support facilities with cell phones and GPS systems.
  6. Keep records of repairs, downtime, changes, and updates.
  7. Manage onboarding and offboarding processes.
  8. Log service requests and update tickets accordingly.
  9. Support vendor relationships.
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned by the IT Director.
Qualifications:

Experience in network security, application installation, software upgrades, and monitoring daily activity. Ability to enforce licensing agreements.

Abilities:
  • Handle multiple tasks efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Communicate effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Be a team player.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records.
  • Own reliable transportation and be willing to travel regionally.
  • Be available via cell for 24/7 support of network and communication systems.
  • Proficiency with operating systems such as Windows 10, 11, and Windows Server 2016, 2019.
  • Maintain security clearance through the NJ Department of Corrections and the federal Bureau of Prisons.
  • Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and practices for installing and maintaining information systems, including networks, workstations, servers, and telephony peripherals.
  • Understanding of microcomputers, telephones, and peripherals in LAN and stand-alone environments.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting network, hardware, and software issues using documented methods and practices.
Education and Certifications:

An associate’s degree or equivalent is preferred, with at least two years of relevant computer and network experience. Certifications are advantageous.
