Job summary

Geneva Trading in Chicago is seeking a Systems Support Analyst apprentice to join the on-site team for a 15-week part-time program. You\'ll gain hands-on experience in desktop support, hardware setup, and general IT assistance within the trading industry.

You will learn from experienced IT professionals, receive mentorship from HR, and work with AI tools to accelerate troubleshooting. Start date and hours are flexible to fit your academic schedule.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an associate’s or bachelor’s degree program in Information Technology or a similar field of study.
• Experience troubleshooting, basic networking concepts, and Windows OS.
• Foundational understanding of Generative AI concepts and eagerness to learn how AI is transforming modern IT operations.
• Excellent customer service and general hardware knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Respond to hardware and software support issues from employees for Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel), Phone/Voicemail, Printers, etc.
• Leverage AI-driven productivity tools (ChatGPT, Copilot) to accelerate troubleshooting, research solutions, and improve help desk efficiency.
• Assist in supporting and troubleshooting enterprise AI applications and features used by internal staff.
• Set up, configure, and install new workstations, monitors, etc.
• Install and configure applications as requested.
• Set up/remove user accounts as required.
• Track and update IT inventory.
• Perform miscellaneous related duties as assigned.

Intern With Geneva Trading

Geneva Trading is looking for students to join our systems support team for a systems support analyst apprenticeship next year. Our systems support analyst apprenticeship is a 15-week part-time on-site role that gives you hands‑on experienceworkingdesktop and general IT support in the trading industry. Our systems support interns are expected to learn on the job by asking questions, applying classroom knowledge andreal worldexperience, all whilst learning from experienced IT professionals.You’llreceive mentorship by industry pros and will receiveadditionalsupport from the Human Resources team to enhance your experience. This is a temporary part‑time opportunity; start date and hours are flexible based on your academic schedule.

As a Systems Support Analyst You Will:

Required Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in an associate’s or bachelor’sdegree program in Information Technology or similar field of study.

• Experience troubleshooting, basic networking concepts, and Windows OS.

• A foundational understanding of Generative AI concepts and an eagerness to learn how AI is transforming modern IT operations.

• Excellent customer service and general hardware knowledge.

• Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with application support and hardware builds highly preferred.

• Prior experience using AI tools toassistwith basic scripting (e.g., PowerShell) or task automation preferred.

• Strong project management experience preferred.

• Prior work experience in Help Desk, Desktop Support, IT Support, or End User Support preferred.

Compensation:

Hourly Range: $30-35/hr

The final hourly rate will be dependent on the successful candidate's skills, experience, education, and qualifications.
