Job summary

Two Six Technologies is seeking a Systems Software Engineering Intern for a 12-week onsite program in Arlington, VA. You will perform C and Python systems programming for low-level networking and Linux kernel integration, and contribute to PCIe architecture alongside high-performance networking offloads.

You will gain hands-on experience, document progress, and deliver an end-of-internship presentation while collaborating with the Digital Advantage Mission Ops team.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• 1+ year of professional or academic C and Python software development, Linux kernel familiarity and Knowledge of Networking fundamentals
• Familiarity with git and different Linux software development tools
• US Citizenship is required due to the nature of our work.
• Ability to work onsite at our Arlington, VA office.

Responsibilities

• Implement C and Python systems programming tasks for low-level networking, hardware-facing code, and Linux kernel integration.
• Execute Linux internals work, including kernel module development, driver configuration, device enumeration, and system debugging below userspace.
• Assist with PCIe system architecture alongside high-performance networking offloads and out-of-band management interfaces.
• Proactively communicate project status to team leads and present technical work with an end-of-internship presentation
