Job summary

Delaware Nation Industries is seeking a Security Risk Threat Specialist to identify, analyze, and mitigate threats to AFRL systems and networks. The role involves developing strategies to defend against cyber threats and staying current with security trends.

The candidate will work with a team of security professionals, participate in incident response, and deliver DoD security trainings while maintaining compliance with risk management frameworks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in systems security threat analysis in a DoD environment.
• Strong understanding of network security principles and practices (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs).
• Familiarity with NIST and ISO security frameworks.

Responsibilities

Job description

As a Security Risk Threat Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and mitigating threats to AFRL systems and networks. You will work with a team of security professionals to develop and implement strategies to protect against cyberattacks and other security threats. You will also be responsible for staying up-to-date with the latest security trends and technologies and for conducting ongoing assessments of the DoD’s security posture.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct ongoing assessments of the systems and networks to identify potential security threats
• Analyze threat intelligence data to identify emerging threats and vulnerabilities
• Develop and implement strategies to protect against cyberattacks, malware, and other security threats
• Collaborate with other security professionals to design and implement security controls, processes, and procedures
• Participate in security incident response activities and investigations
• Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends and technologies and advise management on their potential impact on the DoD’s security posture
• Develop and deliver training programs to educate DoD personnel on security best practices
• Update Risk Management Framework paperwork in coordination with change manager, ISSM, and Operation teams
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in systems security threat analysis, preferably in a DoD environment
• Strong understanding of network security principles and practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and VPNs
• Familiarity with industry-standard security frameworks, such as NIST and ISO
• Experience with threat intelligence tools and techniques, including malware analysis and reverse engineering
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Preferred: DISA ACAS Best Practices Exam
• ACAS Training Certificate
• Active Secret clearance or above
• Active Security+ (or 8 equivalent)
