IRG Ventures, LLC is seeking a hands-on Systems Security Administrator to be the primary on-site IT resource for our Dallas office, while supporting our SOC 2 security program. You will monitor security tooling like Darktrace and Vanta, manage endpoint protection, and work with compliance and legal teams on audits.

This role blends real IT support with security ownership, including configuring devices, managing backups, handling tickets, and helping with disaster recovery.

About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on Systems Security Administrator to be the primary on-site IT resource for our Dallas office, while also supporting our day-to-day security operations. This role keeps our people, devices, and office technology running smoothly, and helps keep our security tooling — Darktrace and Vanta — monitored, current, and audit-ready. You'll work closely with others in IT as well as our compliance and legal teams on our SOC 2 compliance strategy, while owing the on-the-ground execution: monitoring alerts, maintaining evidence, managing endpoint security, and reviewing access.

This is a great fit for someone who wants a role that blends real IT support with meaningful security ownership — not a purely back-office compliance seat.

What You’ll Do

• Serve as the primary on-site IT resource, ensuring users, devices, meeting rooms, and office technology run smoothly
• Provide hands‑on hardware and software troubleshooting for employees in the office
• Set up new hires and manage equipment recovery for departing employees
• Install, configure, and maintain workstations, laptops, printers, and other end‑user hardware
• Support and maintain servers, backups, and data storage systems
• Resolve assigned tickets within our internal SLAs, with clear documentation

Security Operations

• Monitor and investigate security alerts generated by Darktrace, escalating as needed
• Maintain and update evidence and controls within Vanta to support our ongoing SOC 2 program
• Manage endpoint security policies using Microsoft Intune and support Microsoft Defender for Endpoint
• Support vulnerability remediation and patch management across Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android
• Review user access in Microsoft 365 and Azure, supporting Conditional Access, MFA, and joiner/mover/leaver reviews
• Support risk assessments and help maintain our risk register
• Assist with disaster recovery and business continuity planning
• Deliver cybersecurity awareness training and run phishing simulation campaigns
• Create and maintain knowledge base documentation for both users and technicians

Required Qualifications

• 3‑5 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, and/or cybersecurity
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 security tools of Defender, Intune, and Entra ID
• Comfort troubleshooting hardware and software across Windows and macOS
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or related field
• Security+, CySA+, or similar certification
• Familiarity with endpoint security/monitoring tools (e.g., Darktrace) and compliance platforms (e.g., Vanta)
• Prior experience supporting a SOC 2 Type II compliance program
