Butler America Aerospace, LLC. is seeking a Systems Safety Engineer in Tucson, AZ to lead MIL-STD-882E safety programs and conduct associated analyses.

The role requires coordinating with customer safety representatives and safety reviews to obtain approvals during development and disposal phases. The engineer will interpret system requirements, standards, and design constraints while preparing reports and briefing stakeholders at reviews.

Responsibilities

• Leading MIL STD 882E compliant system safety programs
• Performing MIL STD 882E System Safety Program tasks and analyses
• Coordinating with customer safety representatives for safety approvals
• Eliminating hazards or implementing effective controls across product teams
• Collaborating with Program Management and government authorities from startup to disposal
• Performing System Safety Program, Hazard analyses or Design analyses
• Briefing safety of the program at technical reviews and approvals
• Interpreting system requirements, customer specs and military standards
• Preparing internal and customer reports describing analyses
• Collaborating across disciplines to understand product architecture and design

Responsibilities

• Leading one or more MIL STD 882E compliant system safety programs
• Performing MIL STD 882E System Safety Program tasks and analyses, or customer-approved equivalents
• Coordinating with customer safety representatives to gain safety approval from appropriate Safety Review Board authorities
• Working across all integrated product teams and lines to properly eliminate hazards or provide effective controls
• Collaborating with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through production to demilitarization and disposals
• Performing System Safety Program, Hazard analyses or Design analyses
• Briefing safety of the program at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process
• Interpreting system requirements, customer specifications and military standards
• Preparing internal and customer reports describing various analyses relevant to the System Safety program
• Collaborating across multiple disciplines to gain a full understanding of product architecture and design
