Job summary

Northrim Bank in Anchorage, AK is seeking a Deposit Operations Representative to support core deposit processing, research account questions, and ensure records are accurate and compliant. You’ll help keep deposit operations efficient and audit-ready behind the scenes.

You’ll work daily with GL accounts, process mail-in deposits, and review exception reports, with opportunities to improve processes and ensure accuracy in a busy banking environment.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of direct banking back-office operations experience OR two years of general banking experience.
  • A solid understanding of federal banking regulations and legal documentation.
  • Moderate knowledge of ACH operating rules.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • A solid understanding of debits, credits, account balancing, and moderately complex mathematical calculations.
  • The ability to calculate interest accruals and independently resolve balancing issues.
  • The ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines without losing sight of the details.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • A commitment to compliance and knowing when an issue needs to be escalated.

Responsibilities

  • Be a banking detective by researching account questions, resolving discrepancies, and digging into complex issues.
  • Handle important legal requests including levies, subpoenas, stop payment verifications, and other documentation.
  • Make sure everything balances by working with Department and Teller GL accounts and resolving out-of-balance conditions.
  • Process mail-in deposits and payments while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Keep documents organized and accessible by digitizing, indexing, and quality-checking imaged documents.
  • Be the quality-control guru by reviewing daily exception reports in Image Centre.
  • Support our deposit products and help keep them running smoothly.
  • Help keep us audit-ready by supporting compliance efforts, certifications, procedures, and documentation.
  • Spot opportunities to improve processes and recommend ways to make our work smarter and more efficient.
  • Be a trusted resource for branch and department employees when deposit operations questions or challenges arise.

As aDeposit Operations Representative, you’ll be an essential part of the engine that keeps our bank running smoothly. While our customers may not always see everything you do, our branches and departments definitely will! You’ll provide critical operational support, solve complex account issues, keep records accurate, and help ensure our deposit operations are efficient, compliant, and audit-ready.

In other words:you make the banking magic happen behind the scenes.

What You’ll Be Doing

Every day brings something a little different. You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Be a banking detective by researching account questions, resolving discrepancies, and digging into complex issues.

What Makes You a Great Fit?

We’re looking for someone who organized, curious, analytical, and ready to roll up their sleeves when there’s a problem to solve.

You’ll bring:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
