Job summary

SII Group USA is seeking an experienced Aircraft Systems Integration & Test Engineer to support the software and hardware integration of multiple aircraft systems within an Integration Test Facility and on the aircraft. The role requires strong hands-on experience with ITF/HIL benches, multi-system integration, and a solid understanding of avionics interfaces and testing procedures.

The position is on-site in Long Beach, CA, with collaboration across systems, avionics, electrical, and supplier

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Systems, Electrical, or related field.
• 5+ years of aircraft systems integration or testing experience.
• Hands-on ITF/HIL bench experience.
• Experience with software and hardware integration.
• Strong knowledge of interfaces and communication protocols.

Responsibilities

SII Group USA is seeking an experienced Aircraft Systems Integration & Test Engineer to support the software and hardware integration of multiple aircraft systems within an Integration Test Facility (ITF) and on the aircraft.

What You’ll Do

• Integrate and test avionics, flight controls, electrical systems, displays, sensors, communication systems, and related equipment.
• Develop and execute system-level integration test plans and procedures.
• Configure and operate integration benches, HIL environments, and production-representative aircraft hardware.
• Verify software, hardware, communication buses, wiring, power, and equipment interfaces.
• Support aircraft power-on, ground testing, system checkout, and flight-test readiness.
• Troubleshoot complex cross-system issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Maintain traceability between requirements, tests, results, and anomalies.
• Coordinate with systems, avionics, electrical, flight-test, and supplier teams.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Systems, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of aircraft systems integration or testing experience.
• Multi-system experience at both the software and hardware levels.
• Hands-on experience with an ITF, System Integration Laboratory, HIL bench, Iron Bird, or aircraft integration environment.
• Experience developing or executing system-integration test procedures.
• Strong understanding of aircraft architectures, interfaces, and communication protocols.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot complex hardware/software integration issues.
• Willingness to work on-site in Long Beach.

Nice to Have

• Aircraft-level integration or flight-test experience.
• Knowledge of ARINC 429, AFDX, CAN, MIL-STD-1553, Ethernet, discrete, or analog interfaces.
• Familiarity with DOORS, Polarion, Jama, Jira, or similar tools.
• Exposure to ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-178C, or DO-254.
