Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and improve physical systems in coordination with Systems Engineers to support integration of sawmill machine centers and associated processes.
  • Execute qualification, testing, and validation processes to ensure the facility operates according to specifications.
  • Innovate and continuously improve system design and operational workflows, supporting design and innovation efforts to develop optimized solutions for sawmill systems, material flow, process design, site layout, and associated documentation considerations.
  • Assist in the configuration of digital systems in coordination with Controls Engineers and integration of automated sawmill machinery, including PLCs, sensors, motor controls, and industrial networks.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Automation, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field, preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in systems integration or industrial maintenance, preferably in a sawmill or heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and control systems (e.g., Allen‑Bradley, Siemens), HMI interfaces, and industrial automation solutions.
  • Familiarity with sawmill mechanical systems, including conveyors, saws, sorters, and hydraulic/pneumatic components.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment with heavy machinery.
  • Commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
