Job summary

The Lumber Manufactory in New Albany, MS is seeking a skilled Millwright to support maintenance and mechanical operations at our facility. This full-time, hourly position involves installing, maintaining and repairing industrial machinery to minimize downtime and uphold safety and quality standards.

You will work with the Mill Manager, Maintenance Lead, and engineering teams to ensure reliable operation across pumps, conveyors, hydraulics, and power transmission systems, with a focus on safety

Qualifications

  • 5 years of maintenance experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Welding in all positions.
  • Able to pass a cutting and welding test.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Willing to work nights, weekends, holidays as required.

Responsibilities

  • Support and execute equipment repairs by reading blueprints and diagrams.
  • Maintain pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers, bearings, and hydraulics.
  • Undertake preventative maintenance program for equipment.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices during assembly, installation and repair.
  • Repair and assemble hydraulic equipment and cylinders.
  • Verify and document repairs made.

Job description

The Lumber Manufactory (TLM) is building the future of sustainable lumber with next-generation sawmill technology. We design and operate state-of-the-art modular sawmills that produce high-grade dimensional wood products with greater efficiency and less waste. Backed by leading investors including Cantos, Slow Ventures, Susa Ventures, Banter Capital, Humba Ventures, and Ravelin Capital.

The Lumber Manufactory (TLM) is seeking a skilled and experienced Millwright to support maintenance and mechanical operations at our New Albany facility. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety across the site. The Millwright will work closely with the Mill Manager, Maintenance Lead and engineering and production teams to minimize downtime and uphold operational standards. This is a full-time, hourly position that plays a critical role in the reliability and success of TLM’s manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and execute equipment repairs, which includes reading blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings.
  • Maintenance of pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers & chains, bearings and hydraulics involved in the manufacturing process.
  • Undertake preventative maintenance program for equipment.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during the assembly, installation, set-up and repair of equipment and machinery.
  • Repair and assemble hydraulic equipment and cylinders.
  • Verify and document repairs made.
Qualifications
  • 5 years of previous maintenance experience
  • Be able to use supply room and cross-reference parts and specify parts
  • Competent in reading blueprints and schematics
  • Competent in cutting and welding in all positions
  • Competent in all type bearing installations and alignments
  • Competent in use of lubricants
  • Competent with all type power transmission components and troubleshooting
  • Be able to figure drive ratios
  • Competent in troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Be able to rebuild hydraulic and pneumatic components
  • Be able to wire motors
  • Be able to use multimeter to take readings
  • Cut keyway in shaft
  • Be able to pass a cutting and welding test (flat, overhead, vertical, and horizontal).
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays as required
Work Environment

This role involves working outdoors and requires physical activity, including lifting and operating heavy equipment in varying weather conditions.
