Creative Technology Ltd. This is a key role within the operational delivery team, suited to an experienced Senior AV Technician with a strong background in live events, conferences and presentations. You will be responsible for overseeing the technical execution of events and ensuring consistently high production standards across audio, video, lighting and IT systems.

You’ll support the successful delivery of live, hybrid and virtual events, working collaboratively with event organisers and stakeholders to provide seamless technical experiences. The role requires strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to remain calm and organised within a fast-paced environment.

What you need to succeed in this role:

• Proven experience in live event production, AV operation or a related technical field.
• Strong knowledge of audio, video, lighting and streaming technologies.
• Experience working with Yamaha, Shure, Ross, Avolites and Sony equipment is highly preferred.
• Understanding of networking and IT systems in an event production environment.
• The ability to work under pressure and manage multiple technical aspects simultaneously.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Experience supporting live, hybrid and remote events.
• The ability to liaise with event organisers and fulfil technical requirements effectively.
• A structured, proactive way of working with excellent planning, prioritisation and attention to detail, comfortable managing multiple concurrent events and competing deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in fluent English, with the confidence to explain technical requirements clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Awareness of health and safety policies and risk assessment processes, and a proactive approach to implementing both.
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel and SharePoint.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate and manage the Yamaha QL5 audio mixing console for live sound reinforcement.
• Set up, configure and troubleshoot the Shure ULXD microphone system for clear and reliable audio.
• Mic up high-profile speakers to ensure optimal sound quality.
• Utilise Dante Controller for audio networking and routing.
• Manage PowerPoint presentations and ensure smooth operation during live events.
• Operate the Ross Touch Drive vision mixer for video switching and production.
• Oversee playback systems, including Tessera and Tria, to ensure high-quality content delivery.
• Direct camera operations using the Sony PTZ controller for professional video capture.
• Program and operate the Avolites Titan lighting console for dynamic and effective event lighting.
• Manage Zoom, Microsoft Teams and other streaming platforms for hybrid and remote events.
• Create and execute Zoom webinars as required.
• Apply basic knowledge of Crestron for AV system integration and control.
• Troubleshoot IT-related issues and ensure all technical systems are functioning optimally.
• Review upcoming events within the Manhattan booking system and enter them into the AV SharePoint calendar.
• Liaise with event organisers prior to events to determine and fulfil their AV requirements.
• Support the successful delivery of live, hybrid and virtual events while maintaining high technical and operational standards.
• Communicate event status, technical requirements and any issues to internal stakeholders and event organisers throughout event delivery.
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner to minimise disruption to event delivery.
• Support and promote compliance with health and safety procedures, risk assessments and safe working practices.
• Prepare equipment, documentation and event spaces ahead of event delivery to ensure operational readiness.
• Provide on-site technical leadership and support to junior team members and freelance technicians where required.
• Support post-event reviews and feedback sessions to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Take on other responsibilities as events demand or as directed by management.

Education

• Relevant technical qualification in Audio Visual Technology, Live Events, Production Technology, Electronics, IT or a related discipline.
• Relevant industry experience will be considered in lieu of formal qualifications

Professional Qualifications (preferable):

• Certification in AV technologies, Q-Sys, Dante, Crestron, or related fields.
• Experience with large-scale corporate events, live productions, or broadcast environments.
• Familiarity with troubleshooting IT and networking issues in a live production setting.
