PDS Tech Commercial is staffing a Systems Installer – Mechanic for an aerospace leader in Mobile, AL. You will prepare, install, and inspect mechanical components and aircraft systems to meet strict engineering, quality, and safety standards.

You’ll work at stations, workplaces, or aircraft parking areas, focusing on specific installation areas based on experience. A minimum of 2 years in aviation production plus a high school diploma are required, with ITAR/EAR considerations applying to access

• Mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare mechanical components and parts for installation.
• Mark, prepare, assemble, adapt, torque, and secure mechanical components.
• Install and manufacture mechanical components per drawings, specs, orders, and GTIs.
• Inspect bonding to ensure compliance with required standards.
• Perform system function checks and verify proper operation.
• Specialize in installation areas such as VTP/HTP, hydraulic lines, belly fairing and flap, air conditioning and fuel systems, MLG and tank testing, gauging testing.
• Maintain focus on quality, precision, safety, and production requirements.

The Role

As a Systems Installer – Mechanic, you’ll be responsible for preparing, installing, assembling, securing, and inspecting mechanical components and aircraft systems. Your work will help ensure aircraft components and systems meet rigorous engineering, quality, and safety requirements.

You’ll work at the station, workplace, or aircraft parking area and specialize in a key installation area based on your experience.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare mechanical components and parts for installation.
• Mark, prepare, assemble, adapt, torque, and secure mechanical components.
• Install and manufacture mechanical components in accordance with drawings, specifications, orders, and applicable GTIs.
• Inspect bonding to ensure compliance with required standards.
• Perform system function checks and verify proper operation.
• Specialize in one or more of the following areas:
• VTP and HTP installation
• Hydraulic line installation
• Belly fairing and flap installation
• Air conditioning and fuel system installation
• MLG & tank testing
• Gauging testing
• Perform additional mechanical installation and production tasks as needed.
• Maintain a strong focus on quality, precision, safety, and production requirements.

Your Boarding Pass: Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in aviation production or an equivalent field.
• High School Diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Preferred

• Experience installing aircraft systems or structural/mechanical components.
• Hands‑on experience with hydraulic, fuel, air conditioning, flight‑control, or landing‑gear systems.
• Experience with aircraft testing, gauging, bonding inspection, or torque/fastening procedures.
• Familiarity with aerospace production standards and documentation.
