Job summary

Apolis in Huntsville, AL seeks an experienced Systems Engineer for a direct-hire, full-time role to support design, integration, and testing of defense systems with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote work.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience; an active Secret clearance is required. Proficiency in Cameo, SysML, and gate processes (PDR/CDR/FRR) is preferred, with aerospace/mechanical background.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field and 5+ years of experience in systems design, integration, and testing.
• Experience with Cameo and SysML for model-based systems engineering.
• Knowledge of gate processes (PDR/CDR/FRR) and aerospace/ mechanical environments.

Responsibilities

• Apply industry knowledge to solve problems of moderate scope and complexity.
• Work independently with some guidance and may mentor junior staff.
• Lead technical development and integration of defense-related systems.
• Create interdisciplinary digital models of systems across lifecycle.
• Conduct system-level trade studies to balance requirements.
• Oversee delivery of complex aerospace hardware from concept to test.

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills: Experience delivering complex aerospace hardware and conducting system-level trade studies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with requirements derivation, definition, validation, and verification.
• Experience with a gated design review process.
• Knowledge of Systems Modeling Language (SysML) or Unified Modeling Language (UML).
• Knowledge of requirement management tools, such as DOORS or JAMA.
• Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
