Job Overview:

Aerojet Rocketdyne, a leading aerospace propulsion manufacturer, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (L4) to support complex solid rocket propulsion system development. This position is highly technical, requiring expertise in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), requirements management, and risk analysis. Candidates will work onsite in Huntsville, AL, on a 9/80 schedule and must hold an active Secret clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and execute systems engineering activities for propulsion systems projects.
• Apply MBSE techniques to manage requirements, verification, and risk.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership and customer stakeholders.
• Develop and analyze system architectures and risk/opportunity models.
• Coordinate and plan engineering tasks to meet schedule and performance goals.
• Use DOORS for requirements management and traceability.
• Support internal reviews, program proposals, and customer meetings.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum of 6+ years (Bachelor’s) or 4+ years (Master’s) in aerospace or defense systems engineering.
• Active SECRET clearance (must be in place at start).
• Proven experience with MBSE methodologies.
• Proficient with IBM Rational DOORS.
• Experience in risk and opportunity management.
• Solid understanding of solid rocket propulsion fundamentals.
• U.S. Citizenship only (no dual citizens per client requirement).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Cameo, SysML, UML, UPDM.
• Experience in developing proposals, basis of estimates (BOEs).
• Knowledge of DoD air/ground launched systems.
• Coursework or certification in systems engineering disciplines.
