Job description

Overview

Insight Global is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer to join one of our clients in Jacksonville, FL to support a multi-year DoD program. The Systems Engineer analyzes customer requirements, develops solutions, and designs and implements real-time software and hardware systems for training devices. They also mentor junior engineers. Qualified candidates must be able to obtain a security clearance as required by the program.

Responsibilities

• Generate requirements traceability matrices from customer requirements in specifications, statements of work, or other requirements documents. Review requirements and develop architectural solutions.
• Design and implement real-time software and hardware systems.
• Present project status and engineering issues at review events.
• Collaborate with the team to meet budget, timeline, and scope.
• Conduct testing at customer sites and on pre-release products.
• Develop technical proposals and respond to RFPs and RFIs.
• Create documentation to meet CDRL requirements.
• Handle government-furnished equipment safely.
• Work standard hours with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering + 5 years of experience
• Experience with requirements traceability
• Advanced knowledge of Excel
• Experience in other engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, etc.)
• Navigation experience with 3D tools like AutoCAD, SolidWorks
• Knowledge of ASME Y14.100
• Knowledge of SETR review process

Preferred / Pluses

• Experience with MATLAB and/or IBM DOORS
• C# or C++ scripting experience
• Aviation or aerospace background in civilian or active-duty military capacity
• Hands-on technician experience
