Job summary

Salesforce, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Workday Engineer to join our hybrid team. You’ll configure, develop, and test Workday HCM modules, drive integrations, and apply automation with Kainos.

A strong foundation in Workday HRMS and architecture, plus experience with SQL/SOQL and web services, is required. You will partner with internal Workday teams and business users, participate in design sessions, and contribute to testing strategies across the implementation lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Workday HCM implementation experience across modules.
• Strong knowledge of Workday architecture, configuration and integration.
• Experience with SQL or SOQL and relational databases.
• Familiarity with web services (SOAP/REST) and integrations.
• Proven track record leading full life-cycle Workday implementations.
• Agile/Scrum experience and clear status communication.

The Experience

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineer with expertise in Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) to join our dynamic team. This is a hybrid role where one would spend time configuring, developing, and testing Workday functionalities and integrations. In addition to Workday expertise, the individual should have knowledge of manually testing and expertise to leverage automation tools like Kainos.

You must have a solid background in Workday with hands-on experience in one or more Workday HRMS modules and a good understanding of industry best practices. You will be responsible for configuration, development, and testing through all phases of the implementation lifecycle.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

• Deliver Workday enhancements to support our existing Workday implementation, covering both functional and technical aspects.
• Closely work with the internal Workday teams and business users to understand the business requirements, including working with 3rd party integrators.
• Participate in product and feature design sessions with developers, designers, product managers, and business systems analysts.
• Build test automation that is effective, scalable, and maintainable using tools such as Kainos.
• Participate in and contribute to code reviews.
• Diagnose, track and manage quality issues to resolution.
• Ensure product quality meets stakeholder expectations and is responsible for creating test plans, test cases, test execution, and defect reporting.

You're Our Person If...

• Workday certification in one or more areas - Workday Pro in function modules (HCM Core/Benefits/Compensation/Payroll/Time & Absence/Recruiting)
• In-depth knowledge of Workday architecture, configuration, and integration.
• 4+ years of implementation experience in Workday HRMS and Workday Integrations
• Working knowledge of Workday Security, Business Processes, Reports, Calc Fields, Integrations framework, Studio and BIRT.
• Well-versed with Workday Community and latest features/enhancements of Workday Releases.
• Business analysis and requirements gathering abilities.
• Experience in leading a full life cycle Workday implementations.
• Working knowledge of data modeling design and relational database languages (SQL or SOQL).
• Working Knowledge of Web Services (SOAP and REST).
• Experience in defining test strategy, test plans, test cases, test execution, and defect reporting for Workday or any enterprise HR software applications.
• Ability to effectively communicate status and risk to the team and manager
• Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodology.
• A related technical degree required

• Experience of working on Workday modules like HCM, Recruiting, Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Time & Absence
• Experience working on Workday Adaptive Planning is a plus
• Familiarity with Annual Benefit Enrollment, Compensation Merit and Promotion cycles
• Experience Troubleshooting with MuleSoft
• Experience working in and around the software-as-a-service and platform-as-a-service architectures and/or industry
