Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Systems Engineer - Mission Thread Lead to drive cross-team collaboration across IPTs, translate long-range plans into a synchronized execution roadmap, and ensure clean handoffs of software and hardware artifacts across the development lifecycle.

You will partner with government and customer representatives, manage risks and issues, and travel to customer sites about 25% of the time while delivering on challenging program milestones.

Responsibilities

• Work with IPT Senior Managers and Program Executives to translate the long-range plans into a synchronized execution roadmap.
• Develop strong working relationships with the larger systems team, national team members, and customers to ensure successful delivery of each software build.
• Integrate with the systems verification and test teams to facilitate a clean handoff of software for testing across multiple sites.
• Connect multi-discipline communities to tackle challenges and gaps in development and test.
• Establish, manage, and communicate team expectations, goals, roles, responsibilities, and objectives.
• Utilize your excellent interpersonal skills to coordinate and resolve programmatic and technical issues across the program, identify risks, and appropriate mitigation plans.
• Collaborate with government and customer representatives in support of critical schedule and distributed multi-element deliveries and activities.
• This role does require travel to customer sites, approximately 25%

The Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) program offers challenging and unique career opportunities, working across the full development lifecycle, and resulting in fielding advanced hypersonic weapon systems to the warfighter.

As the Systems Engineer - Mission Thread Lead you will build relationships across the program and with our national partners to meet all critical program milestones and ensure clean handoffs.

Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining and adjusting the detailed plan coordinating the multiple teams, and to facilitate discussions and problem resolution and issues or gaps are discovered.

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. For positions that perform IT responsibilities, use E646, Systems Engr-IT.

Basic Qualifications

• Experienced technical lead in systems engineering or another engineering field
• Experience integrating or troubleshooting electrical or hardware-software systems

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick lead​ annual​ly; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
