Job summary

World Wide Technology (WWT) is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager (SEM) to lead a consulting Systems Engineers team in designing and delivering tailored IT solutions for key accounts. You will drive the technical strategy, mentor engineers, and partner with client managers to align on OEMs and implement impactful projects.

Qualifications

• 10+ years delivering large-scale IT solutions, preferably in Financial Services with product ownership and experience in Operations, Architecture and Engineering.
• 2–5 years of leadership/management experience.
• Travel 25%–50% may be required.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical strategy, goals and plans for specific accounts and your team.
• Collaborate with Sales, Services and Consulting Systems Engineers; align with OEMs to solve customer problems.
• Identify trade-offs between short- and long-term gains based on customer needs and technical choices.
• Help the team resolve conflicting priorities and make timely decisions.
• Demonstrate management, coaching and recruiting skills to drive results within the team.
• Oversee presales processes and coordinate communication between sales, Professional Services and Global SME Teams.
• Recruit, hire and grow a diverse and talented team.
• Provide technical direction and mentoring to employees to achieve outcomes.
• Develop strong relationships with strategic OEM partners and customers.

As a Systems Engineering Manager (SEM) specific to a team of Consulting Systems Engineers, you will be leading a team of experienced consultative engineers in designing, developing, enhancing, and delivering the "right fit" IT solutions to WWT's customer base, leveraging consultative skills to create new opportunities and customers all while continuing to recruit, develop, and retain top talent using WWT Core Values and the Solutions Engineering mission and vision as our foundation to grow upon. The SEM and SEM’s team will partner with WWT Client Managers in the market to bring specific technical knowledge to assist in building out custom solutions and projects for our customers. Technical expertise expansion is always encouraged as you look to learn about new areas of interest and be on the forefront of cutting- edge technologies.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical strategy, goals and plans for specific account(s), your team's success, and contribute to the organization's overall strategy, plans, and technology direction.
• Collaborate with Sales, Services and Consulting Systems Engineers to define strategic technical plans and align/partner with the right key OEMs to solve customer problems.
• Identify trade-offs between short- and long-term gains by having a deep understanding of customer needs and technical choices.
• Help team solve conflicting priorities and make timely, effective decisions.
• Demonstrate strong management, coaching, and recruiting skills and drive results within the team.
• Oversee the presales process and help drive effective communication between sales, Professional Services and Global SME Teams.
• Recruit, hire and effectively manage and grow a diverse and talented set of employees.
• Provide technical direction, coaching and mentoring to employees on the team, and others, when necessary to achieve successful short- and long- term outcomes.
• Develop strong relationships with strategic OEM partner and customers.
• Actively engage, build, and help execute business plans/strategy to grow our business in markets.

Qualifications

• Qualified candidates should have 10+ years of experience delivering large scale IT solutions as a practitioner, preferably in Financial Services and with product ownership as well as Operations, Architecture and Engineering.
• 2 to 5 years of previous leadership/management experience required
• 25% - 50% travel may be required.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; MBA preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, thought leadership, mentorship, and the ability to translate complex IT architectures into easily understood and consumable solutions are required.
