Job summary

MITRE's Systems and Operations Department in the Center for Engineering and Analysis is seeking a full‑time student intern to apply MBSE and traditional systems engineering across the system development lifecycle. You will translate mission needs into concepts, develop architectures, and support integration, testing, validation, and technical transition.

Qualifications

• Must be a student enrolled full-time in an accredited degree-seeking program.
• Experience with system design, architecture modeling, requirements development, interface analysis, integration planning, verification and validation, and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with MBSE and traditional systems engineering approaches.
• U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain the required clearance.

Responsibilities

• Apply Traditional Systems Engineering (TSE) and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) across the system development lifecycle
• Translate mission needs, operational constraints, and capability gaps into system concepts, designs, and technical solutions
• Develop and refine system architectures, requirements, interfaces, data flows, and integration dependencies
• Support integration, testing, verification, validation, deployment planning, and technical transition
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on technical deliverables, documentation, and presentations
