Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a systems engineer to work in a cross-functional agile team on secure communications systems for military platforms. You will create, decompose, and trace requirements using MBSE methods and model-based design tools.

The role requires a STEM degree with at least 2 years of related experience and an active TS/SCI clearance. Candidates will gain exposure to MBSE modeling, Linux environments, and collaboration with security specialists within Mission Systems.

What You Will Do

Perform in a cross-functional agile team. Work in close coordination with a mentor using Collins Aerospace engineering processes. Creation, decomposition, and tracing requirements for communications systems on military platforms, both air and ground applications. Work with a model-based systems engineering application to create logical and physical design diagrams. Perform integration and testing for these communications solutions. Support future bids and proposals providing new business opportunities.

Qualifications you must have

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field. Must have an active U.S. government issued DoD Top-Secret SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering concepts and tools such as Magic Draw Cameo, Enterprise Architect, or similar resources using SysML. Experience with software and system requirements development. Ability to define requirement specifications and functional requirements. Ability to perform modeling and simulation for system analysis. Experience with system testing and validation. Skilled in software validation processes. Proficiency in Linux environments. Experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action Analysis Experience with the AS9100 Certification Audit process. Familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall development methodologies. Strong understanding of risk management practices. Experience with document management practices. Proficiency with Atlassian tools, including Confluence and Jira. Strong oral communication skills.

Qualifications we prefer

Experience developing, decomposing, and deriving system/sub-system requirements. Experience in system/sub-system design definition. Familiarity with system architecture development. Exposure to test automation frameworks or scripting. Experience integrating requirements across multi-disciplinary teams. Understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and related tooling. Familiarity with cross-functional engineering processes. Experience contributing to process improvements or engineering best practices.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
