Systems Engineer II

This position is for a Systems Engineer II. The Secure Subsystems Department is responsible for the design, test, and certification of cross-domain technologies and cryptographic products that equip our warfighters to thrive in today’s multi-domain battlespace. Our department collaborates with portfolio teams across the organization to help capture new business and create security-hardened solutions that address our customers’ demanding needs.

What You Will Do

Collaborate with a dedicated, high-performing team driving the development of airborne and ground communication products, delivering secure, mission-critical solutions to our customers. Contribute to all phases of the systems engineering lifecycle, including trade studies, system architecture, requirements definition and allocation, traceability, integration, verification, and qualification. Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure successful execution of key program milestones. Provide systems engineering support for bids and proposals, contributing to technical strategy and solution development. Perform daily tasks in a classified and controlled lab environment. Travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

Experience with the systems development process, including requirements capture, design, decomposition, integration, and verification/validation, and transition to production. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field. Qualifications: We Prefer Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is preferred prior to start date. Experience working in an Agile environment. Experience with communicating between program stakeholders. Experience with tools such as DOORS, CAMEO or similar, Software Languages such as Rust and Python. Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
