Job summary

Bowhead is seeking a Systems Engineer / VTC Operator (Tier III) to support a customer in Quantico, VA. The role covers program management, logistics, engineering, 24x7 operations, and information assurance across unified communications platforms.

Qualified candidates will have 5+ years in UC, strong VoIP knowledge (SIP, H.323, MGCP), and experience with Cisco UC tools. A Top Secret/SCI clearance is required or ability to obtain; DoD 8570/8140 certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years’ practical experience in voice and video management.
• Five (5+) years’ experience in unified communications with focus on voice and video systems.
• Strong knowledge of VoIP protocols such as SIP, H.323, MGCP.
• Experience with video conferencing systems (Cisco TelePresence, Polycom RealPresence).
• Familiarity with UC platforms (Cisco Unity, Skype for Business).
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP; QoS/QoE tools (Cisco QoS, NetIQ).
• DoD 8570/8140 compliant certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, operate, maintain and update system package artifacts for Tactical AV.
• Manage VoIP and video systems and UCaaS solutions.
• Handle SIP trunking, QoS/QoE, and network architecture for UC.
• Ensure security and compliance for UC systems.

Overview

SYSTEMS ENGINEER / VTC OPERATOR | TIER III (MIELS):

Bowhead is seeking Systems Engineer / VTC Operator to support a customer in Quantico, VA. Support for the contract will consist of program management; logistics; asset management; engineering; customer service; research and development of new capabilities; test and evaluation; manpower, training, and personnel; new equipment fielding and training; financial management; information assurance; cybersecurity; and 24X7 enterprise services operations and sustainment.

Responsibilities

• Installation, configuration, operation, maintenance and create / update system package artifacts for Tactical AV located in Hawaii.
• Voice over IP (VoIP) systems
• Video conferencing systems
• Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) solutions
• Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) trunking
• Voice and video network architecture
• Quality of Service (QoS) and Quality of Experience (QoE) management

Qualifications

• CCNP Voice or CCIE Voice certification.
• CCNP Collaboration or CCIE Collaboration certification.
• Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) in Skype for Business.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) in Routing and Switching.
• Preferred: 7+ years’ experience in Video Audio engineering environment management.
• Preferred: DoD 8570 / 8140 compliance or information assurance certification commensurate with technical objectives and services required.
• Preferred: Applicable software or hardware training and certifications commensurate with the technical objectives, services required, and IT environment specified.
• Preferred: Cloud certified.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift 25 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
• Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically

The pay scale for this position is between $130,000 - $160,000.
