Job summary

Systech Federal seeks a Systems Engineer to manage the applications infrastructure across networks, provide security compliance support, and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.

This role requires design, installation, monitoring, automation, troubleshooting, documentation, and evaluating new technologies, with collaboration across DevOps, management, and other teams. Active TS/SCI FSP required to start.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of system engineering, testing, or DevOps experience.
• Experience configuring CI/CD pipelines and automated testing tools.
• Strong knowledge of Jenkins, Linux/Unix, Git, and scripting (Python/Bash).
• Familiarity with Agile development practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in STEM fields required.

Responsibilities

The Systems Engineer is responsible the applications infrastructure across all networks. Technical support to make application security compliant. Responsible for tech precepts implementation and contractually responsible to be part of a 24/7 on call rotation.

Key Responsibilities

• SystemDesign & Implementation: Design, install, configure, and test operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
• Monitoring& Maintenance: Proactively monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to ensure high availability.
• Security& Redundancy: Implement and maintain robust security measures, backup strategies, and disaster recovery plans.
• Automation& Scripting: Develop custom scripts to automate tasks and improve system efficiency.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across hardware, software, and network components.
• Collaboration: Work closely with developers, management, and other departments to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for system architecture, procedures, and support.
• TechnologyEvaluation: Research and assess emerging technologies for potential upgrades or new implementations.

Requirements

• Experience:2+ years of experience in system engineering, testing, or DevOps roles
• CI/CD Knowledge:Proven experience configuring CI/CD pipelines and automated testing tools
• TechnicalSkills:Strong working knowledge of Jenkins, Linux/Unix, version control (Git), and scripting languages (Python, Bash, or similar)
• Methodology:Familiarity with Agile development practices.
• Education:Bachelor’s degree in STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Experiencewith Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible
• Familiaritywith containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
