Job summary

SOC LLC's client in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Systems Engineer for Test Equipment Engineering on a 6-month contract onsite. You will define test requirements, architectures, and oversee verification and validation across the product lifecycle.

The role may entail technical leadership for senior engineers, mentoring, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver robust test solutions for complex programs, including DoD contexts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM fields.
• 2+ years for entry, 4+ for mid, senior with IPT leadership or equivalent.
• Experience in test engineering including IV&V and DoD programs.

Responsibilities

• Define and develop test requirements, strategies, and system architectures across the product lifecycle.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align test environment capabilities.
• Design and support test systems, including models, simulations, test beds, and prototypes.
• Lead or contribute to hardware integration, manufacturing test, and transition to production.
• Execute and support verification and validation (V&V) of hardware using established methodologies.
• Evaluate technology risks and trade-offs to inform program decisions.
• Support DoD programs with direct customer interaction.
• Identify capital investment needs for test infrastructure.
• Drive product affordability through cost-conscious design and built-in-test capabilities.
• Senior roles: mentor engineers and lead IPTs on development programs.
