Job summary

Applied Research Solutions is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the AFLCMC Command, Control, Communication, Intelligence and Networks (C3I&N) Directorate at Eglin AFB. This is a Full-time position on base.

The role requires DoD systems engineering experience, security clearance, and hands-on data link expertise to support fielding and training activities. You will work with tactical data links (LINK 16, SADL) and ensure RF and power standards are met, traveling to USAF and FMS locations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 3+ years in systems engineering, including 3+ years in a DoD environment.
  • Must be a US Citizen with Top Secret clearance.
  • In-depth knowledge of LINK-16, SADL, and other Tactical Data Link systems.
  • Experience with Flight Line Maintenance procedures and RF characteristics.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering and Tactical Data Link (LINK 16, SADL) support.
  • Setup and operate equipment used to support fielding and training of Tactical Data Links.
  • Operate Tactical Radios including all MIDS Terminals.
  • Operate Spectrum Analyzers, O'Scopes, DVMs and other test equipment.
  • Conduct training for military and civilian personnel on data link operations and troubleshooting.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Provide engineering and Tactical Data Link (LINK 16, SADL) Support.

  • Operate Spectrum Analyzers, O'Scopes, Digital Volt Meters and other associated test and diagnostic equipment.
  • Conduct training for both military and civilian members on proper data link operations, COMSEC Key loading procedures, and data link troubleshooting procedures on ground-based systems.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements:
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Top Secret Clearance
  • 3+ Years experience in systems engineering including at least 3 years in a DoD environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Must have in-depth knowledge and experience with LINK-16, SADL and other Tactical Data Link systems and message protocols
  • Knowledge of Flight Line Maintenance procedures and a working knowledge of both AC and DC electrical power and Radio Frequency characteristics required
  • Able to elicit and interpret requirements and translate to technical specifications/system design following best practices and design patterns
  • Able to communicate with management, technical staff and end users in a clear and professional manner
  • Experience with engineering practices, techniques and standards
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to develop and present technical presentations
  • Able to represent complex data in diagrams or through other techniques that communicate precise information to both business and technical staff
  • Proven ability to understand the strategic and tactical approach to projects and handle multiple projects concurrently.
  • Must be willing to travel to USAF and FMS locations globally
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in technical engineering
