Job summary

Delphi Technologies is seeking a Test Engineer in the Town of Florida, NY. The successful candidate will design and execute test events while interacting with various program offices and contractors. You will support the 46 Test Squadron at Eglin AFB, operate complex datalink systems, and lead testing efforts.

Job description

Our tactical integration test team is searching for new test engineer professionals that can help us design and execute test events. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, learning new technology areas, this is the place for you. We provide a number of opportunities to learn, ranging from on-the-job training with other team members to formal courses for unique technology areas.

We realize that no one will have all of these qualifications. We are looking for people that have a system engineering foundation and have the drive and motivation to learn all other required areas. Position responsibilities can span from customized test configurations to lab infrastructure support.

This position provides support to the 46 Test Squadron at Eglin AFB as a member of a tactical integration team responsible for planning, designing, and executing test events for tactical integration programs. This position includes the following:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform as a member of the 46 TS Tactical Integration Element (TIE) Test team.
  • Interface directly with System Program Offices, other services, Joint Battle Labs as well as product development contractors.
  • Plan, execute, and report on and associated datalink systems including Common Data Link (CDL), Link 16, Situation Awareness Data Link (SADL), Integrated Data Modem (IDM), Remotely Operated Vehicle for Emplacement & Reconnaissance (ROVER), Multifunctional Advanced data Link (MADL, Beyond Line of Site (BLOS) and other like-systems.
  • Operate datalink systems/equipment/protocols to include Link 16, J series messages, Universal Command and Control Interface (UCI), Variable Message Format (VMF), and Cursor on Target Systems (CoT), Video Datalinks (VDL), Mobile Ad hoc Networking (MANET) and various other joint and coalition capabilities.
  • Proficient/familiar with various radios to include: Small Tactical Terminals (STT) and MIDS JTRS terminals, PRC-161, PRC-117G, PRC-152A, Freedom 550 radios etc.
  • As a technical leader in an engineering role, review customer requirements and participate in test planning meetings.
  • Develop test plans and procedures, schedules, and execute a test within the constraints of customer requirements and produce timely test reports.
  • Capable of performing as a team leader in directing and executing system testing.
  • Author technical documents, reports and briefings and conduct formal presentations.
  • Travel to locations, as required, to conduct tests, collect and reduce data.
Position Requirements
Required Experience
  • MS Degree in a Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (i.e., EE, AE, ME, etc.) or 15 years of applicable experience and a BS Degree.
  • An active Secret Clearance adjudicated within the past five years with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance.
  • Working knowledge of tactical data links, computers and computer software.
  • Ability to communicate and present technical details both written and verbally.
  • Able to travel to contractors' facilities, test sites, and other locations, CONUS and OCONUS, up to 20% of the time.
  • Strong work ethic; Comfortable working in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • Good understanding of Advanced Battle Management Systems and PEO for C3BM.
  • Technical experience with DoD digital/tactical information distribution data links; preferably with Link 16, MADL, SADL, and VMF.
  • Technical experience in the areas related to data link radios, radio frequency waves/propagation, Electronic Warfare and ad hoc computer networks like Starlink.
  • Experience and knowledge of tactical datalinks such as CDL, Link 16 Joint Tactical Information Distribution System (JTIDS), and Multinational Information Distribution System (MIDS) in both Line of Sight (LOS) and Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) mission threads. Proficiency with the Microsoft and Linux Operating Systems.
  • Understanding of USAF DT&E processes, specifically acquisition program development and detailed knowledge of Air Force Command and Control (C2) test methodologies including AFI 99-103, Capabilities Based Test and Evaluation.
  • Knowledge of systems analysis and application software development concepts, functions, and techniques.
  • Able to evaluate tactical communications emerging technologies.
  • Security+ certification.

Salary Range: Will commensurate with experience

Full-Time/Part-Time: Full-Time

Level of Clearance Required: Top Secret

Amount of Travel: 20%
