Job summary

Bolt Graphics Sunnyvale, CA is hiring a Systems Engineer/Systems Modelling Engineer to develop executable models and simulations that inform the behavior of our SoC/IP. This role is pivotal for risk reduction and pre-silicon requirements.

You will translate system requirements to block-level specs, analyze NoC/memory architectures, and work with product management, architecture, and design teams to shape PPA targets and roadmap decisions, while contributing to documentation and methodology

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of CPU/GPU microarchitecture, memory hierarchy, and SoC interconnects.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and define ASIC system requirements based on product specs and translate to block- and circuit-level specs.
  • Analyze micro-architecture trade-offs to optimize perf/power/area/fidelity.
  • Collaborate with product management, architecture, and SoC design teams to influence product definition and roadmaps.
  • Support the development of executable models, simulations, and analytical workflows.
  • Contribute to design documentation and methodology improvements.

About the role:

As a Systems Engineer/Systems Modelling Engineer, you will Support the development of executable models, simulations, and analytical workflows that inform system behavior of our SoC/IP. This role is critical for the risk reduction and requirement-definition phase of the project.

What you'll do:
  • Understand and define ASIC system requirements based on product specifications and translate system-level requirements into block-level and circuit-level specs
  • Analyze micro-architecture trade-offs (NoC, caches, memory controllers, coherency fabrics) to optimize perf/power/area/fidelity.
  • Work closely with product management, architecture, and SoC design teams to influence product definition, PPA targets, and roadmap decisions
  • Support the development of executable models, simulations, and analytical workflows that inform system behavior
  • Contribute to design documentation and methodology improvements
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering
  • Experienced in converting document-based to model-based architecture
  • Strong understanding of CPU/GPU microarchitecture, memory hierarchy, and SoC interconnects
  • Familiarity with analytical/simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink...)
  • Effective communication skills to articulate architectural features and tradeoffs to design architecture and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience performing model driven design using Simulink and auto generated code defines input/output parameters and ensures integration of the entire system or subsystem
  • Familiarity with firmware, compilers, DV, and RTL design concepts
  • Demonstrated ability to model, simulate, and optimize performance, power, and area
  • Post-silicon performance correlation, root-cause gaps, and updating pre-silicon models to improve fidelity
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail to communicate clearly with stakeholders

Compensation Range: $180,000-$220,000 per year (California). This range represents the anticipated base pay for this role; the final offer may vary based on qualifications, experience, and location.
