Job summary

ZipStaff Inc. in Dallas seeks a Systems Engineer to lead storage and virtualization for a major academic medical center. You will be the SME for Dell PowerScale (Isilon) and enterprise SAN, including Fiber Channel fabric, VMware storage integration, and backup/recovery.

Must be local to Dallas with 3 days on-site. 7+ years of experience in enterprise storage, OneFS/PowerScale, and SAN engineering are required. Hybrid work arrangement and security requirements apply.

Qualifications

• 7+ years enterprise storage / infrastructure engineering.
• Deep hands-on OneFS, Isilon / PowerScale, and enterprise SAN arrays.
• Hands-on Brocade FC switches and complex zoning.
• vSphere / ESXi experience focused on storage multipathing and datastores.
• Experience producing storage capacity and health reporting.
• Ability to work hybrid in Dallas (3 days on-site at 3000 Pegasus Park Dr).
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Act as SME for Isilon / PowerScale clusters: capacity, performance, and Zero Trust security.
• Manage enterprise SAN arrays: provisioning, LUN masking, and hardware lifecycle.
• Maintain the Fiber Channel fabric: switch config, zoning, and physical-layer troubleshooting.
• Provide secondary VMware administration: multipathing and datastore optimization.
• Oversee backup and recovery to meet RTO/RPO.
• Produce capacity and health reports for planning and budgeting.

Employment Type: Contract (W2 through ZipStaff — No C2C or 1099).

About the Opportunity
