Delta Computer Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior Storage & Backup Administrator to own the reliability, lifecycle, security, resilience, and continuous improvement of enterprise SAN, NAS, block storage, backup/recovery, monitoring, and infrastructure-service platforms.
This hands-on role requires deep expertise with Dell Technologies storage and data protection, Cisco SAN/NX-OS, enterprise backup, VMware, monitoring, automation, and AWS, with 10+ years of enterprise infrastructure
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive enterprise infrastructure experience.
- 5+ years administering enterprise SAN, NAS, or block-storage platforms and 5+ years on backup/recovery platforms.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
- Own enterprise SAN, NAS, block storage, backup/recovery, monitoring, and automation platforms.
- Administer Dell Technologies platforms such as PowerStore, Isilon/OneFS, Avamar, and Data Domain.
- Manage Cisco SAN switching, NX-OS, zoning, provisioning, replication, capacity, and performance.
- Lead backup/recovery validation, recovery testing, incident response, troubleshooting, and RCA.
- Perform hands-on data-center work including rack/stack, cabling, hardware installation/removal, diagnostics, RMA, and decommissioning.
- Manage storage upgrades, lifecycle planning, vulnerability remediation, and corrective actions.
- Administer infrastructure monitoring and alerting using Icinga, Grafana, or comparable platforms.
- Support infrastructure automation and scripting using Ansible or similar tools.
- Integrate storage and backup platforms with VMware, Windows, Linux, Cisco UCS, Nutanix, AWS, databases, and applications.
- Coordinate vendor/MSP support, maintain technical documentation and runbooks, and support Disaster Recovery exercises.

This is a highly technical, hands-on infrastructure role requiring deep expertise with Dell Technologies storage and data protection, Cisco SAN/NX-OS, enterprise backup and recovery, VMware, monitoring, automation, and AWS. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of enterprise infrastructure experience and can independently lead complex storage, recovery, incident, and data-center activities.

- Strong experience with zoning, provisioning, replication, storage networking, performance, capacity, lifecycle, and recovery validation
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools such as Icinga, Grafana, or comparable platforms
- Experience with Ansible, scripting, automation, or configuration management
- Working knowledge of VMware vSphere, Windows Server, Linux, Cisco UCS, Nutanix, and AWS
- Experience with enterprise backup/storage integrations
- Experience with ITSM, 24x7 operations, change control, patching, vulnerability remediation, major incidents, and RCA
- Strong vendor/MSP coordination and escalation experience
- Strong technical documentation and management-level presentation skills
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or Associate degree/military/industry training with equivalent professional experience
- Strong VMware vSphere administration, particularly storage and backup integrations
- Familiarity with GitHub, GitLab, or similar SCM/version-control platforms
- Experience creating infrastructure standards, runbooks, technical diagrams, and lifecycle/capacity plans
- Experience leading Disaster Recovery and recovery testing
- Strong event management and alert-tuning experience
- Experience mentoring infrastructure engineers and supporting cross-training
- Relevant Dell Technologies storage/data protection training or certification
- Cisco Data Center/SAN training or certification
- Relevant OS, AWS/cloud, or automation certifications
