Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) seeks a seasoned senior systems engineer to support US BICES-X at Langley AFB. The role focuses on designing, deploying, and managing complex IT infrastructure, collaborating with cyber and network teams to ensure secure integration and operational readiness.

The position requires Top Secret/SCI eligibility, VMware expertise, and experience applying STIGs, with leadership responsibilities for a small team of engineers. Must be US citizenship.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Designs, installs, configures, and maintains operating systems, hardware, and networks.
• Collaborates with cyber security and network teams to ensure system integration.
• Deploys, configures, and administers virtual machines within the vCenter infrastructure.
• Reviews vulnerability scans and remediates systems.
• Builds and maintains transient Active Directory domain environments for validation testing.
• Plans and directs upgrades of operating systems and designs systems enhancements.
• Maintains baseline system images and VMware virtual machine templates.
• Develops documentation on new or existing systems.
• Determines system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
• Diagnoses and resolves complex technical issues in hardware and software
• Implements warranty and support activities.
• Serves as liaison with clients, participating in meetings to ensure client needs are met.
• Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
• Manage a small team of systems and network engineers (under 10)
• Participates in special projects as required.

The USBICES-X Coalition Integration Lab (CIL) is the enduring solution for intelligence sharing. Located at JB Langley-Eustis, the CIL provides a reliable resource to advance the Initial Operating Capability of NATO Joint Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance.

• Previous experience administering Windows Server Domains.
• People manager skills.
• DoW 8570.1 IAT Level II Compliant.

Salary:

The likely salary range for this position is $129,813 - $151,800. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
