Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a senior Network Engineer for the US BICES-X program. The role focuses on designing and implementing advanced data communication networks to support DoW intelligence sharing and mission-critical operations.

You will work with a dispersed team supporting major commands and partners. Requires Top Secret/SCI clearance, 10+ years of experience, and CCNA certification.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of network experience required.
• CCNA certification required.
• IAT level II compliant with DoD 8140.
• ITIL V4 Foundation within six months of hire.
• Knowledge of routing and switching protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, STP).
• Experience with Cisco IOS software and hardware features.
• Ability to configure/troubleshoot Multicast, DMVPN, GRE tunnels.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with network staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
• Work with executive team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues.
• Designs and defines network architecture for new or existing computer systems
• Performs complex network development and design work.
• Participate in the upgrading of operating systems and design of network enhancements.
• Provides input for documentation on new or existing networks.
• Develops and conducts tests to ensure networks meet documented user requirements.
• Identifies, analyzes, and resolves network problems.
• Provides network/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.
• Determines network specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
• May provide guidance and leadership to less-experienced systems engineers.
• Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
• Comprehensive knowledge of network engineering principles, methods, and techniques.
• Knowledge of the associated hardware, software, and equipment.
• Knowledge of Data Center and Virtualization.
• Knowledge of Automation techniques and structure.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of ten (10) years’ network experience.
• Active TS/SCI clearance
• Bachelor’s Degree– may substitute additional years of experience
• Must be IAT level II compliant with DoW 8140
• ITIL V4 Foundation within six months of hire
• Must possess a complete CCNA certification.
• Knowledge and experience with routing and switching protocols (e.g., OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, Spanning Tree Protocol, ISAKMP, ESP, SIP, SCCP, etc.)
• Knowledge and experience with current Cisco IOS software and hardware features
• Ability to configure and troubleshoot Multicast
• Ability to configure and troubleshoot DMVPN and GRE tunnels
• Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multi-task while still ensuring high quality of work
• Highly organized with strong ability to prioritize work and work autonomously
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Knowledge and experience with Firewall (Cisco ASA/FTD, Palo Alto, etc) firewall rule sets
• Knowledge and experience with VoIP/collaboration systems i.e. Cisco, CUCM etc
• Knowledge and experience with HAIPE-based encryption devices
• Knowledge of Virtualization technologies
• Knowledge and experience with data center networking
• Understanding of network virtualization
• Understanding of concepts presented in the VMware Data Center Virtualization Fundamentals course
• Understanding of VxRail Manager and best practices
• Knowledge of ISP/Transport concepts and practices
• Knowledge of network security and hardening practices and concept

The likely salary range for this position is $107,744 - $145,475. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
