Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Gilbert, AZ or Dulles, VA is seeking a Systems Engineer – Level 2 or 3. Responsibilities include managing interfaces of hosted payloads to spacecraft, developing ICDs, and supporting the spacecraft, payload, and mission operations.

Clear understanding of system engineering and space systems is essential. The role requires technical leadership, proficiency in design optimization, and collaboration across engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field and 2 years of engineering experience or Master’s Degree in STEM
• Self-starter with strong technical problem-solving skills and initiative
• Experience in systems engineering including architectural studies, requirements & interface management
• Experience in space systems, spacecraft design, or mission operations
• Must have active U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance and ability to obtain TS/SCI Clearance

Responsibilities

• Perform technical planning and analyses across the system lifecycle
• Develop system and subsystem architectures and interfaces
• Generate and revise specification/interface documents
• Produce requirements and manage changes
• Lead trade studies and mission analyses
• Support proposal writing and project planning
• Lead program milestones and readiness reviews
• Support test campaigns to verify spacecraft and payload performance
• Provide on-floor support for integration, testing and readiness
• Incorporate lessons learned to strengthen the product line
• Mentor and coach teammates
