Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Systems Engineer at either Gilbert, AZ or Dulles, VA, to manage hosted payload interfaces to a spacecraft bus and develop ICDs. The role involves coordinating tests, validating constraints, and contributing to mission planning and performance analysis.

The position requires a STEM degree with experience in space systems or mission operations, plus active Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 2 years of engineering experience or a Master’s in STEM.
• Self-starter with strong technical problem-solving skills and initiative to drive product development to closure.
• Experience in systems engineering including architectural studies, requirements & interface management, hardware/software integration, and test planning & execution.
• Experience in space systems, spacecraft design, or mission operations.
• Active U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance and ability to obtain TS/SCI Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical planning and analyses across concept to disposal.
• Develop system architectures and physical views with critical interfaces.
• Generate and revise specification/interface documents.
• Produce requirements and manage changes per NG guidelines and tools.
• Lead trade studies, design optimization, and mission analysis/planning.
• Support proposal writing, project planning, and cost estimation.
• Contribute to program milestones and readiness reviews.
• Support test campaigns for spacecraft and payload functionality.
• Provide on-floor integration, testing, and readiness support for spacecraft and payloads.
• Incorporate lessons learned to strengthen the product line.
• Mentor and guide teammates.
