Job description

We're partnering with an innovative engineering and simulation technology organization seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join its growing team in Tulsa. This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced engineer who thrives at the intersection of systems architecture, software, hardware integration, and model-based engineering.

In this role, you'll lead the development of complex simulation and training systems from concept through implementation, helping define system architectures, manage requirements, and ensure successful delivery of advanced technology solutions used in mission-critical environments.

What You'll Do
  • Lead systems engineering activities and provide technical direction to multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Analyze customer, contractual, and operational requirements to develop system concepts and architectures.
  • Develop top-level system designs that balance performance, quality, cost, schedule, and technical risk.
  • Define and manage hardware/software interface requirements and system integration strategies.
  • Conduct engineering trade studies and evaluate alternative technical solutions.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate program and technical risks.
  • Decompose system requirements into detailed design requirements and configuration items.
  • Develop and maintain requirements traceability throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Utilize Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Object-Oriented Systems Engineering Method (OOSEM) methodologies.
  • Support software and hardware development efforts, including contributions to software development activities when required.
  • Participate in system integration, validation, acceptance testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with software, hardware, manufacturing, and program management teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support installation, customer acceptance testing, and deployment activities at customer locations.
  • Prepare technical documentation, requirements traceability matrices, design specifications, integration plans, and test procedures.
  • Assist with technical proposals, cost estimates, and new business development initiatives.
Technical Leadership Responsibilities

This role provides significant technical leadership responsibilities without direct personnel management duties.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Mentoring and supporting junior engineers.
  • Conducting design reviews and peer reviews.
  • Promoting engineering best practices and systems engineering discipline.
  • Facilitating collaboration across engineering teams and stakeholders.
  • Supporting onboarding and knowledge transfer efforts.
  • Identifying process improvements and technical efficiencies.
  • Assisting project leadership with technical planning, execution, and risk management.
What We're Looking For
