Job summary

GDIT is seeking a Systems Engineer in McLean, VA to support an information technology enterprise. You will ensure secure operations, draft requirements, manage vendors, and act as a technical SME across a range of hardware/software systems.

Responsibilities include coordinating user requirements, developing test plans, and guiding troubleshooting to deliver on-time deployments. Requires 10+ years of experience and TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent
• 10+ years related experience in systems engineering
• Experience drafting requirements and managing program reviews
• Experience with 3rd party vendors and test planning
• Ability to champion new technical solutions and manage across timelines
• Experience supporting customer contracting processes
• Strong technical documentation skills for diverse audiences
• Hands-on experience validating and testing technical systems and deployments
• Familiarity with RF systems network infrastructure and communications protocols

• Draft documentation and support the contracting process through SSJ, SOW, requirements, etc. products.

• Secure approvals and conduct field tests of systems under development.
• Contribute to approval process for deployment of technical systems as technical SME.
• Coordinate stakeholder engagements, such as user requirements sessions.
• Lead technical efforts that support the O&M of deployed systems.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
• Experience: 10+ years related experience.
• Required skills:
  • Demonstrated experience with SETA and Agency Tech Dev.
  • Systems engineering expertise supporting full lifecycle development of complex hardware/software systems.
  • Proven experience drafting requirements, managing program reviews, working with 3rd party vendors, generating test plans and guiding troubleshooting.
  • Ability to champion new technical solutions and manage efforts across short and intermediate timelines.
  • Experience supporting customer contracting processes.
  • Demonstrated experience with customer formal documentation systems and strong ability to draft technical documentation for different audiences.
  • Hands‑on experience validating and testing technical systems, including test plan development, testing coordination, and test report documentation.
  • Experience with customer approval processes for technical testing and system deployment.
  • Strong ability to apply technical knowledge in RF systems network infrastructure, communication protocols, quality standards, and manufacturing.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.
• Security clearance level: TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• Preferred skills:
  • Experience with satellite communications and satellite systems.
  • Experience with computer networking.
  • Experience using customer technical tools and systems.
• Location: McLean, VA (On Customer Site).
• US Citizenship: Required.

Location & Compensation

Schedule: 40 hours per week.

Travel: 10–25%.

Telecommuting: Onsite.

Location: USA, VA, McLean.

Salary Range: $164,900 – $223,100 (salary set based on experience, location, contracted requirements, may vary).
