Ultra Maritime seeks a Principal Systems Engineer to lead radar system development from initial concept through integration and test. You will collaborate with RF, Mechanical, Electrical, and Software engineers to guide the radar system design and perform system-level trade studies.
The role emphasizes rigorous systems engineering, integration planning, and cross-disciplinary leadership to support Navy-focused projects and future proposals.
Develops plans and leads systems Engineering teams to ensure optimum use of time and resources and provides technical leadership, ensuring that team performance is aligned and contributes to the overall goals of the business unit. Serves as a subject matter expert and influencer to make complex decisions based on advanced analytical expertise to develop innovative solutions and supporting the decision-making process.
Applies a breadth and depth of engineering skills to develop engineering solutions to complex problems within time, cost, and quality constraints. Supports the bid and proposal process by leading a portion of the technical proposal effort, including coordinating with other engineering disciplines to identify and manage dependencies to ensure work packages within assigned area will be delivered. Remains current on trends and emerging technologies and tools. May include safety, environmental protection and compliance.
Ultra Maritime is searching for a highly motivated and detail oriented Principal Systems Engineer to support the development of Radar systems. Working closely with RF, Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineers, the Principal Systems Engineer will guide the development of the Radar System from initial design, through finalization of the design, and finally through the integration and test events. The Principal Systems Engineer is expected to provide system level trade-space assessments of approaches working with the Project Engineer to determine the benefit trade-offs. At Ultra Maritime, the Principal Systems Engineer will have the opportunity to guide the development and selection of key technologies for the Navy and will have the opportunity to work with complex software algorithms and cutting-edge digital signal processing hardware. The Systems Engineer will have the opportunity to contribute to key strategic approaches for future proposals, IR&D, and additional development activities.
