Job description

Washington, District of Columbia, United States

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

We are working on cutting-edge autonomous airpower systems that need to operate in the most demanding environments. To support our development and deployment tasks, we are building a Model-Based Systems Engineering team to guide Digital Engineering strategy and complement our Modeling and Simulation, Product Engineering, and Business Development teams. This team will provide Model Based Systems Engineering artifacts which will be used in support of product development, delivery, and sustainment of open architectures and their associated enterprise products.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • You will be a systems engineer who interfaces with stakeholders including internal programs and external customers.
  • You will develop artifacts based on stakeholder needs and work closely with functional areas to ensure artifacts are complete and accurate. Model artifacts will often be contractual deliverables and require demonstration at stakeholder meetings and events.
  • This role will be critical in proving that Anduril offers real Systems Engineering and Mission Systems Integration capabilities.
  • Participate in the development of our Digital and Systems Engineering Strategy and Implementation.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the transformational value of Anduril platforms, autonomy, simulation, and perception products through the creation and maintenance of systems engineering artifacts.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • B.S. in aerospace, mechanical, computer science or similar engineering or technical field.
  • 2+ years Systems Engineering Experience across the life cycle. The more, the better.
  • Basic understanding of modular open systems approaches (MOSA) in defense systems.
  • Knowledge of software architectures and their application in complex systems.
  • Experience with requirements analysis and system design in a government context.
  • Understanding of interoperability and integration challenges in defense systems.
  • Experience with Systems Engineering, Requirements Elicitation and Management, Integration, and Test Activities on complex systems - DoD Weapon Systems, Space Systems, etc.
  • Experience with SysML, DoDAF, UAFP, or similar.
  • Experience developing various model-based system engineering artifacts - Operational Viewpoints, System Viewpoints, activity diagrams, use case diagrams, BDDs, IBDs, parametric diagrams, etc.
  • Experience with Cameo MagicDraw or similar systems engineering software (Rhapsody, SparxEA, etc.).
  • Experience with Digital Engineering workflows and Integrated Modeling Environments (i.e. Teamwork Cloud).
  • Outstanding communication skills to include presentation of developed artifacts.
  • Must hold an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
EVEN BETTER
  • Familiarity with one or more Government Reference Architectures (GRAs) such as AMS GRA, A-GRA, or OMS/UCI.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and their application in GRAs.
  • Experience working with UAI (Universal Armament Interface) or similar standardized interfaces.
  • Knowledge of FACE (Future Airborne Capability Environment) Technical Standard.
  • Understanding of SOSA (Sensor Open Systems Architecture) aligned systems.
  • Mission Modeling experience. For example, working knowledge of OCA/DCA, ISR, SEAD/DEAD, Electronic Attack, or Integrated Fire Control missions.
  • Experience with Cameo Simulation Toolkit plugin for Cameo MagicDraw.
  • Proficiency with Mathworks products (MATLAB, SIMULINK etc.).
