Job summary

Tactical Engineering & Analysis, Inc. in San Diego, CA, seeks a Systems Engineer to integrate, configure, troubleshoot, and install systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure for the Naval Tactical Grid (NTG) within NIWC.

The role involves cross‑functional collaboration with software, test, and documentation teams, ensuring proper SRD/SRS artifacts and participating in the full systems engineering lifecycle. Some travel may be required; active clearance or eligibility is desirable.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing, developing, and testing computer systems, including hardware, software, and networking components.
• Integrate multiple systems, hardware, and software components to ensure seamless functionality.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues (bugs), as needed.
• Work closely with cross- functional teams, including software development, test/QA, technical support, technical writing, system architects, configuration management, and all levels of program management.
• Maintain accurate and up to date documentation of system designs, SRD/SRS, software user manuals, configurations, requirement traceability matrices, risk assessments, SEMP, interface control documents, version descriptions, fault tree assessments.
• Participate in the systems engineering life-cycle across all phases, including requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, documentation, troubleshooting and maintenance, and collaboration.
• Research and systems engineering methodologies, tools, and best practices; stay updated on industry trends and support in the training of junior team members.
